About
Indigitize launched in 2022 with support from Amazon Future Engineer to address a critical gap: the lack of opportunities for Native American students to learn computer science (CS). In just three years, we’ve worked alongside hundreds of educators to bring culturally relevant CS experiences to over 15,000 Indigenous youth.
As technology evolves, so does our work. What began with a focus on CS has expanded into a broader commitment to emerging technologies like artificial intelligence (AI). We believe AI is one of the most powerful and disruptive technologies of our time, and that Indigenous communities, particularly youth, should have voice in shaping its impact.
That’s why we’ve begun supporting educators through AI-focused Communities of Practice, designing learning experiences that are grounded in community values, cultural relevance, and critical thinking. Our approach centers on discernment and sovereignty, not tech adoption. We want to ensure that youth and educators can make informed decisions that align with their communities’ needs and visions for the future.
We’re expanding beyond CS to meet the moment, while staying rooted in our values.
